Education in the Arts
Education in the Arts:
I attended a school where art was prominent and I studied art throughout my school career. It was one of my graduate subjects.
A lot of what I learned was taught to me by my parents who both painted and sculpted.
I attended the Art Foundation in Johannesburg, South Africa, where I learned to experiment with all types of mediums and subject matter.
I attended Leggats Design Academy in Johannesburg, where I learnt how to draw - especially faces and human form. After leaving design school, I freelanced as a fashion illustrator for a few years.
Over the years, I have attended many art courses and learnt drawing through Jacques Fresco. Experience comes with 'doing' and I find that each year, my style and subject matter evolves. The wonderful thing about art is that one is constantly growing and changing and no matter how experienced one is as an artist, there is always something new to master.
